Modern Greek Conversation

Instructor: Ioanna Thanasi

Join Modern Greek Conversation with native speaker Ioanna Thanasi to practice your Greek! Each meeting the instructor will lead casual discussions that focus on a single topic, such as dining out, greetings, holidays, shopping, weather, and more. Join us to practice your language skills and gain confidence with a learning community. This workshop will be held primarily in the Greek language and is geared toward people who want to practice their Greek with other students with guidance from the instructor. Beginning students, students who have already taken Modern Greek workshops through City Extension, or people who want to brush up on their Greek language skills are welcome to join!

Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device. A device to capture images (digital camera, smart phone, or tablet, etc.) is helpful, but not required.

Instructor bio:
Ioanna is a certified instructor of Modern Greek by the Centre for the Greek language since 2013. Having 13+ years of teaching experience, she creates an atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of her learners and is skilled in creating interactive and engaging online lessons.
