Conversational Filipino 1

Tara! Mag-Usap Tayo!
You will learn basic conjugation, foundational vocabulary, and begin to understand the cultural contexts for different social situations. At the end of this six week course you will be able to navigate introductory questions you may be asked at any Filipino party, such as "Kamusta ka?," "Kumain ka na?," "Ano ang trabaho/curso mo?" and "Tagasaan ang pamilya ko?" in Filipino!

Instructor Bio:
Lara Elaine Balajadia has a rich background in English and a deep passion for language education. A transplant to the Bay Area, her career began in Los Angeles as a high school English teacher and professor at California State University - Long Beach where she played an integral role in the continuation of the Filipino language program. Currently teaching Filipino at both the middle school and university levels, Lara Elaine excels in bridging cultural and linguistic gaps, making her uniquely suited to guide our conversation. She is renowned for her engaging teaching style and commitment to fostering a love for language in students of all ages.
