Continuing Everyday French
Instructor: Kevin Jewell
This workshop will provide participants with continued experience with the French language, introducing additional conversational topics, vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, with a continued emphasis on everyday spoken French. The workshop will also cover subjects such as culture and the historical background of the language. This second workshop, while geared mainly to continuing the work of the beginning Everyday French workshop, will also accommodate participants who did not take the first workshop, but who have previously studied some French and wish to re-familiarize themselves with the language. There will be no required text for the workshop. Instead, participants will be provided with written materials by email as the sessions proceed, as well as audio files which can be used for practicing on their own.
Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device. A device to capture images (digital camera, smart phone, or tablet, etc.) is helpful, but not required.
Instructor bio: Kevin is a recently retired attorney who also held a California credential to teach French in high school. Kevin has previously been teaching with City Extension since 2019.
