Fretboard Fundamentals
Wednesdays, 11/6-12/4/2024, 7:00-9:00pm
Location: John Adams Center, room 109
Instructor: Doug Cameron
This is a combined Intermediate level class for guitarists who already play and can read music to some degree. You will develop finger style techniques, vision of the fretboard (chords/scales), improvisation, practical theory, musicianship, and apply these skills to a variety of jazz, blues, classical, and rock tunes. Taught by Doug Cameron, this class is perfect for those who have taken the Beginning Guitar series of classes, or for guitar players who have some music-reading ability. Bring your own six-string acoustic guitar and let's play!
Instructor Bio:
My name is Doug Cameron and I am a San Francisco based guitarist, composer, and music educator. I completed a Bachelor of Music in guitar performance and a Master of Music degree in music composition at San Francisco State University. I’ve taught music privately and in the classroom to hundreds of students at all levels and styles. I am an active composer for acoustic and electronic mediums, and have written for local and national artists, independent film/video, concerts, computer games, and theater.
