Do you know your hashtags from your handles? Instagram has quickly become one of the most valuable marketing tools for visual artists and small businesses alike. During this 1.5 hour workshop you will be given the tools to maximize your Instagram presence. Designed for beginners to the Instagram app, this workshop will focus on introducing students to the various features of the app as well as to best practices and proven marketing strategies, with an eye toward helping artists and small businesses.
Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and both the Zoom application and Instagram installed to their device.
Erik Richard Parra holds a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in painting from The University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Fine Art completed on fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Currently based in San Francisco, California Erik has exhibited internationally in Berlin, Brazil, Los Angeles, London and New York. In the Bay Area Erik‚ work has been exhibited at Blankspace Gallery, Johansson Projects, The Headlands Center for the Arts, Root Division, Southern Exposure, Kala Art Institute, the Berkeley Art Center and most recently at Eleanor Harwood Gallery. Erik's work has been included in publications including New American Paintings, the SF Bay Gaudian and the LA Times. Erik teaches at the California College of the Arts, and City College of San Francisco. Additionally, Erik has garnered residencies and awards, most recently he was awarded an inaugural Hopper Prize and an inaugural Liquitex Research Residency.
