Tuesdays and Thursdays
Instructor: Theresa Ferrell
This 4 week workshop will guide you though the process of editing and sharing digital images. We will cover the basics of image editing on a computer, including topics such as understanding file sizes and formats, sizing, cropping, basic color correction, using layers, adding text and sharing images.
You will receive hands-on guidance as you learn how to work with images in editing software such as pixlr.com (available online for free) or Photoshop (student must purchase). The workshop is taught online through Canvas, and will include online video lectures and demos presented on Zoom.
Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device. A device to capture images (digital camera, smart phone, or tablet, etc.) is helpful, but not required.
Students will need access to a computer that is able to run media applications (Microsoft Windows 7 or later; Mac OS X v10.9 or later). Image Editing Software
Pixlr Image editing software is accessible for FREE online (upgrades available).
Theresa (Teri) Ferrell is faculty in the Broadcast Electronic Media Arts department at City College of San Francisco, teaching digital content creation, including audio and video for the web, and digital portfolio classes. She is a musician and composer, playing and working with Bay Area bands, and doing sound design and creating music for video and film projects, creating original, unique music for theme songs and jingles, and sound design and music to enrich multimedia projects.
