This ongoing class supports the study of Sogetsu Ikebana at all levels
Basic and Variation styles teach how to use different materials in simple yet effective harmonies. As you choose branches and flowers each week, you feel in touch with the cycle of the seasons. Technique and artistry develop together through hands and heart.
Freestyle deepens your study with focus on "Composition and Line, Color and Mass".
Looking at each of these elements carefully, develops the ability to express your point of view while creating bold and dynamic arrangements. The next level is the pursuit of "Materials and Space", which leads to the exploration of a wider range of materials and placement to create innovative forms.
In Advanced study, the themes are "Technique, Materials, Placement & Creation". Techniques are reviewed and refined, and plant materials are studied in even greater depth. Placement and Creation refer to the expansion of vision to include new and innovative places for ikebana.
