Seasonal Ikebana - Japanese Flower Arranging

Location: City College of San Francisco, Ocean Campus, 50 Frida Kahlo Way, San Francisco Floristry Room EH/F1 The Horticulture/Floristry building is located at the north end of campus on the 300 block of Judson, between Gennessee & Foerster 

This summer workshop invites you to dip into the exquisite art of Ikebana to celebrate the season through the beauty of flowers and plants. You will learn how to a create a simple yet dynamic ikebana design. The class includes a demonstration, practice time, and individual assistance in a relaxed atmosphere.

You will take home all the elements of your design, including the flowers, and vase. Please bring a small towel and some flower scissors or clippers if you have them (a limited supply will be available for loan).

Enrollment fee includes $75 materials fee for flowers and vase elements. 

Instructor Bio:

Rachel Johnson is a versatile Sogetsu instructor with over 20 years ikebana practice. In addition to in-depth classes, she enjoys introducing ikebana to a wide range of groups including family, social, school and professional settings. Rachel is the Ikebana committee coordinator for the Asian Art Museum, she exhibits at Bouquets to Art, and gives demonstrations in the SF Bay Area. She also designs professionally for home, business and special events.
