Instructors: Tim Crowell and Megan Bauer

Join expert cultivator Tim Crowell and entrepreneur Megan Bauer for an inside perspective of the cannabis plant and the industry. If you are looking to start a career in cannabis, this workshop will inspire you to create your own path.

Cannabis 101 covers the political and cultural history of cannabis and current movements towards legalization. In the workshop, you will explore the properties of cannabis to ensure a basic understanding of the plant and dig deep into principles and practices of effective cultivation. The workshop will feature guest speakers from the cannabis industry that will provide a wide range of perspectives from those on the ground floor.

Instructor Bios: Tim Crowell has been in the cannabis space for over a decade. While most of his accomplishments are based in cultivation, he has held many different roles over the course of his career. Tim brings a comprehensive understanding of what it is like to work in cannabis,how different levels of experience and education can benefit those interested in a career in cannabis and a deep understanding of where the industry is headed.

Megan Bauer has worked in the cannabis industry for 7+ years in supply chain management including; cultivation, processing, retail, wholesale, and marketing. She provides cannabis companies and enthusiasts with an in-depth understanding of how the industry operates, rooted in compliance and science. Megan has her bachelors in Communication from Oregon State University and is currently earning a Masters in Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from University of Maryland. 

Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device.
