Zippered Pouches Workshop

Location: John Adams Center, Room 312

Just in time for holiday gift-giving! Learn to make a simple, fabric-lined zippered pouch. Never sewn in a zipper? Never fear! You’ll be guided step by step through the process to ensure success. Be warned: you are sure to get hooked on making these as gifts and for yourself - get ready to make more!
Materials List:
- Sewing machine
- Fabric, 1/4 yard for outside pouch, 1/4 for inside pouch
- Plastic zipper, at least 10″ long or longer
- Thread
- 1/4 yard Interfacing or batting
- scrap for zipper end pull (leather pull available here, waxed cord pull available here)
- Scissors
- Cutting mat, Rotary Cutter
- Acrylic Ruler of your choice - ideally 3"x18" or so
Instructor Bio:
Lorraine Woodruff-Long is a self-taught quilter with a primary focus on color, improvisation, and recycled/repurposed fabrics. Her work has been juried into shows at the de Young Museum/San Francisco, the California Heritage Museum/Santa Monica, the International Quilt Festival/Houston, QuiltCon, and the Sanchez Art Center/Pacifica, among others.
