Full course description
Sculpting the Human Figure in Line
Tuesday, 2/24-3/3/2026, 5:30-8:30pm
2 sessions
Ocean Campus, STEAM room 212
Instructor Tom Hill
In this two session class we will explore working with wire to sculpt the human body. In the first session we will draw and sculpt from the sequential photographs of Eadweard Muybridge and then go on in the second session to work directly from a life model. It'll be a great challenge to widen your life drawing skills repertoire and the aim is to create a number of study pieces rather than a finished sculpture. A $20 fee covers both materials and model fee and is included in the enrollment fee.
Instructor Bio: Tom Hill has been working in wire for over 30 years having studied jewelry making at Middlesex University in London UK. He has made a number of private and public commissions over the years, including for the BBC Symphony Orchestra, John Lewis partnership, and Centeral Wisconsin Airport .
