In Part 2, five 3-hour classes, participants will use an existing quilt, or the quilted yardage made in Part 1, as the fabric to be used for the The Elemental Coat pattern by Teresa Coates. We will cut out the pattern, sew it together, and create and sew on binding to finish the edges. (Note: sewing both inside and outside of class will be required to complete the project.)
MATERIALS LIST:
• A completed quilt or the amount of quilted fabric yardage necessary to make the coat of your choice (see pattern fabric requirements – approximately 2.5 – 3.5 yards of a finished completed quilt)
• 1 yard of fabric to make into bias binding (will learn to make custom binding in class) OR 7 yards ready-made bias binding
SUPPLIES LIST:
• Sewing Machine that is working and with which you are familiar using (i.e. how to thread, wind a bobbin, etc.)
• Fabric cutting shears.
• Rotary cutter/cutting mat
