Instructor: Anthony Ryan
Explore and fine tune your understanding and perception of color in this workshop. Based on the pedagogy of modernist painter, Bauhaus instructor and Yale professor Josef Albers and his book, Interaction of Color, this workshop will employ a series of playful yet rigorous exercises using premade colors as collage elements to unlock and heighten your sensitivity to color mixtures, and the effect of colors alone and in juxtaposition. This workshop can be vital to painters, designers, photographers or anyone with a curiosity about the nature of color and perception.
Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device. A device to capture images (digital camera, smart phone, or tablet, etc.) is helpful, but not required.
