Art and Assemblage
Mondays, 9/16-10/14/2024, 6:00-9:00pm
Location: Evans Center, room 232
Instructor: James Sansing
Assemblage is a medium that starts everyone on equal footing because of the absence of a measuring stick of talent or advancement in ability. In this workshop we will look at artists such as Joseph Cornell, Marcel Duchamp, Ed Kienholz, Eva Hesse, Alfonso Ossorio, and Bruce Conner, among others. Techniques using adhesives, rivets and other methods of fastening will be demonstrated. Materials for the workshop will come from multiple scavenged sources. Enrollment fee includes $50 materials fee
Instructor Bio:
James Sansing is graduate from San Francisco art institute. He has show his work locally at ybca, Headlands Center for the Arts , Hosfelt Gallery , BAM/PFA , he has taught his assemblage class for 17 years at CCSF.
