Assemblage is a medium that starts everyone on equal footing because of the absence of a measuring stick of talent or advancement in ability. In this workshop we will look at artists such as Joseph Cornell, Marcel Duchamp, Ed Kienholz, Eva Hesse, Alfonso Ossorio, and Bruce Conner, among others. Techniques using adhesives, rivets and other methods of fastening will be demonstrated. Materials for the workshop will come from multiple scavenged sources.
