Watercolor Monotype

Instructor: Frances Valesco

Students will learn watercolor techniques suitable for printmaking, allowing for multiple images and idea generation. They will learn to prepare a printmaking plate and create art using water-based and non-toxic materials. The goals are idea generation and the possibility of a rich series of images using accessible materials. Previous art-making, printmaking, or watercolor experience is optional. Enrollment fee includes $10 studio materials fee.
 
MATERIALS LIST FOR STUDENTS will be shared before the workshop begins.
 
Instructor Bio: Frances Valesco has taught as an arts and art education instructor for over 25 years at institutions including CCSF, SFSU, the San Francisco Art Institute, and UC Berkeley. In 2023, she exhibited her work in the Avocet Portfolio, Kentler International Drawing Space, Brooklyn, NY, 11 Print Bienal, Douro, Portugal, Awagami Miniprint, Tokushima, Japan (honorable mention), and Thinking of Place iii, University of Kragujevac Library Gallery, Serbia. Her prints are in the collections of the Fine Arts Museums, San Francisco, MOMA, Library of Congress, and numerous other museums internationally and nationally.
