This course will help the student, understand the basic construction of the face; learn how the portrait in art can be so much more than rendering a face. We’ll practice each of the features, learning to draw fast, loose and expressive portraits. Working from a model, ourselves and each other, we’ll use different art materials to create portraits, ending our final class with a more rendered portrait. No previous painting or drawing experience is required. ONLINE

Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device. A device to capture images (digital camera, smart phone, or tablet, etc.) is helpful, but not required.
