Join us on Zoom for a whirlwind history of Umbria, Italy! Led by Edmund Zimmerman and Frances Valesco this free lecture will deepen your understanding of Italy's most celebrated region. Also, find out more about our summer travel workshop, Watercolor and Water-Based Media Printmaking in Italy. Bring your sense of curiosity, your love of history and discover all the Umbria, Italy and the La Romita School of Art has to offer!

Edmund Zimmerman has been the director of the La Romita Center for the Arts in Umbria for over twenty years. Zimmerman is a freelance writer and poet with a background in the performing arts in Rome and San Francisco. Edmund is fluent in Italian, has traveled extensively throughout Central Italy and is well versed in Italian cultural and political history.
Frances Valesco teaches City Extension’s Watercolor and Water-Based Media Printmaking in Italy at the La Romita School of Art. Valesco is an artist and educator who exhibits internationally in museums, galleries, and cultural centers. As an educator she's taught in universities, professional and vocational schools, including: The Academy of Art University; City College of San Francisco; Kala Art Institute; La Romita School of Art; The San Francisco Art Institute; San Francisco State University, and University of California at Berkeley.
