For mental-health practitioners who work directly with clients and/or supervise work with clients.
The DSM-5 was recently updated and now includes changes in criteria to diagnoses and new diagnoses. Learn how these changes may impact the diagnoses most commonly used with system involved youth. Also learn how the DSM addresses cultural considerations in diagnosing.
This course is designed to help participants: Define a mental health disorder according to the DSM; Differentiate between a culturally bound syndrome and a DSM diagnoses; Identify three changes in the DSM-5 TR that impact system involved youth; Identify one new diagnoses.
