Cl# SW200H Working with Families Using Evidence-Informed Principles: An Overview 6 CEUs

Instructor: Pamela Parkinson, PhD, LCSW

Tuesday, 8/13/2024; 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Location: Online via Zoom

Students address family relational dynamics specific to exploring and identifying the underlying issues in the family including family violence, family needs, strengths, and resources. This understanding prepares the worker to move forward with an effective case plan regarding how to support the youth in the safest and healthiest manner. We will focus on how to diagnose ineffective family relationship patterns and traumatic attachment ruptures via the use of Pain in the Heart Theory (PITH). Once we are able to diagnose the pain, we will be ready to know where the healing needs to occur so that our youth can start experiencing positive outcomes in all of their settings including more likelihood of not being removed from the home, successful reunifications and more sustainable permanent placements!
