This training supports child welfare professionals in recognizing how power dynamics shape workplace communication and team trust. Participants will examine how role, authority, lived experience, and privilege affect everyday interactions among colleagues. The training focuses on building practical awareness of how inclusion is created or blocked in child welfare teams. Participants will explore how assumptions show up in meetings, supervision, collaboration, and crisis moments. The class emphasizes respectful communication, ally awareness, and small shifts that can strengthen workplace belonging while supporting better outcomes for SIY. Participants will be able to identify two ways power dynamics may affect communication within child welfare teams; Participants will be able to explain two ways privilege or role-based authority can influence workplace trust; Participants will be able to apply two ally-awareness strategies to support respectful collaboration in child welfare settings.
