Full course description
Children are grieving deaths connected to people they depended on, or had complicated relationships through overdoses, accidents, domestic and neighborhood violence and personal tragedies. Participants will examine how sudden death can disrupt a child’s ability to make sense of what has happened. Through guided practice, participants will learn usable engagement activities that can be adapted for children, teens, and families after sudden loss. The training uses creative, sensory, reflective, and relationship-centered tools to help youth engage grief without requiring polished language, forced disclosure, or emotional performance.
