It is important for providers, foster parents, and natural supports to understand the impact parental substance use has on youths’ development. This training will provide an overview of how parental substance use impacts youths’ physical development, social development, academic development, and emotional development. Providers, foster parents, and natural supports will learn strategies for how to support system-involved youth when parental substance use is prevalent. Participants will be able to identify at least one way parental substance use impacts system-involved youths’ emotional development. Participants will be able to identify at least one way parental substance use impacts system-involved youths’ emotional development.
