Full course description
Participants will learn about the principles of trauma-informed care and how to implement these principles in practice, including screening for trauma, creating a safe environment, and trauma-focused therapies. Additionally, the training will cover working with survivors of sexual violence or domestic abuse, secondary trauma, and self-care. Participants will also learn about trauma-informed care in systems and organizations, including creating trauma-informed policies and practices. The material will be delivered by PowerPoint presentation, short video clips, group discussion, breakout (small group) discussions and participant workbook (handout). Class Objectives: · Identify at least 5 physiological and psychological factors that influence sexual development across the lifespan of system-involved youth; Explain the definitions and at least 2 distinctions between sexual orientation and gender; Distinguish between 4 types of sexual dysfunctions as defined by the DSM-5-TR and determine appropriate care practices for each.
