In today’s evolving social and clinical landscape, system-involved youth and families face increasingly complex behavioral health challenges exacerbated by systemic inequities, community violence, digital trauma exposure, and post-pandemic stressors. This full day, immersive training equips professionals with timely, evidence-informed strategies to recognize and respond to the unique mental, emotional, and relational needs of youth and families impacted by child welfare, juvenile justice, and public behavioral health systems.

Grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equity-centered frameworks, this training emphasizes practical skill-building through interactive case studies, real-world scenarios, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants will explore emerging behavioral health trends in 2025, such as digital mental health risks, intersectional trauma, and youth identity development in virtual spaces. They will also deepen their understanding of how systemic barriers including racism, poverty, and housing instability affect emotional well-being and family cohesion.

By the end of the session, attendees will walk away with actionable tools to support healing, enhance cross-disciplinary collaboration, and lead with empathy and accountability. This training is designed for professionals across behavioral health, social work, education, juvenile justice, healthcare, and community-based sectors who are committed to advancing equitable outcomes for system-involved youth and families. The material will be delivered by PowerPoint presentation, short video clips, group discussion, breakout (small group) discussions and participant workbook (handout).
