Instructor: Marya Wright, DSW, LCSW
Tues, October 28, 2025 9AM-4PM
Location: Online via Zoom
This 2025-updated training equips professionals with leading-edge, research-backed interventions for working effectively with youth and families involved in systems like juvenile justice, child welfare, and behavioral health. Participants will explore not only “what works,” but also how to tailor these best practices through trauma-responsive, culturally competent, and cross-system collaborative frameworks—especially valuable in the evolving landscape of child welfare and justice services. The material will be delivered by PowerPoint presentation, short video clips, group discussion, breakout (small group) discussions and participant workbook (handout).
Learning Objectives
· Understand and differentiate between current evidence sources—such as OJJDP’s Model Programs Guide, SAMHSA’s Evidence-Based Practices registry, Results First Clearinghouse, and System of Care models—and apply them effectively to service planning.
· Integrate trauma-informed frameworks and collaborative System of Care strategies into practice, promoting family engagement, cultural responsiveness, and holistic support.
· Recognize and apply well-supported interventions such as Aggression Replacement Training, Parent Management Training, restorative practices, and Positive Youth Justice within your context. Understand how to adapt them with fidelity to local populations and needs.
