Full course description

This training will equip child welfare professionals with effective interviewing strategies that prioritize both accurate information gathering and the well-being of the child in a trauma-informed, supportive manner. Key elements of the training will include establishing rapport, utilizing open-ended questions, and adapting interview techniques to align with the child’s developmental level and cultural background. Through a combination of PowerPoint presentations, real-life experiences, case studies, and group exercises, participants will gain a deeper understanding of developmental stages, rapport-building techniques, and the importance of cultural competence and diversity in conducting interviews.
